The Misty Vixen Newsletter | June 2024

This one will be short.

May was not kind to me, but now for completely different reasons. In short, my primary laptop broke and I’m dealing with getting it repaired, and I’ve been running into some new medical problems that are concerning and distracting, and I’m also trying to figure out how to deal with them.

As expected, this really fucked things up for me. Especially because it’s becoming increasingly obvious that I need to take an actual break, because I am burned out, but I keep having shit I have to get done, so instead of putting my nose to the grindstone and grinding it out, I’m trying to do that, but having to stop very frequently because I’m fucking exhausted.

Anyway, enough complaining. I’ll give you a quick bullet point list of what’s up.

  • BENEATH THE ASHES 3: It’s posting to my Patreon right now. I’m basically on the home stretch. I’m going to have it wrapped up in the next week or so, and then it’ll probably take another week or less to actually get published.

  • DEAD FREEZE: This is the main top secret project. It is the first novel in a new trilogy, coauthored by Lara X. Lust. I’ve done my work and now Lara’s doing hers. The novel is being posted to Lara’s Patreon right now. We believe it will be out this month, but it’s still cooking at the moment. It takes place in the same universe as Dead Drift. It’s Action/Sci-Fi/Horror. Basically base-building and survival in a galaxy long since overrun by zombie monsters.

  • LAKESIDE COUGARS: This one is still cooking, but I seriously fumbled it in May. I intend to make some more meaningful progress before I pick up Goblin Girls III.

  • GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER III: Gonna try and get this written and out by July.

  • SECRET PROJECT: The other secret project I’m involved in seems to be shaping up for a release before too long. Again, can’t say anything more than that, but I’ll definitely let you all know the moment I can.

  • OUR OWN WAY 4 PAPERBACK: If you’re still waiting on this, it is coming, I’m still waiting on my main laptop be fixed first.

And that’s it. Uh, wish me luck with my problems.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter | May 2024

So, first the good news. I have some things that got released!

OUR OWN WAY 4

RAW - THE COMPLETE SERIES AUDIOBOOK

GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER II AUDIOBOOK

BENEATH THE ASHES 2 AUDIOBOOK (May 6th)

Also, I am officially teasing one of my two secret projects.

Yep. This is happening again, and this time I’m actually going to put my name on it. I don’t really want to say much, as it’s more of a Lara thing than a me thing, and she’s the one in control. What I can say is that there’s a good chance we’ll get more information either this month or next month. If you are paying particularly close attention, there is a detail in this picture that could give some insight as to what it’s going to be. But yes, all I can say for now is that we are collaborating, it is haremlit, and it should be out sometime in the summer. But given the whimsy of life that is subject to change.

Okay, now we talk about the bad news.

I definitely overworked myself. At the beginning of the year I was looking at a mountain of novels to get written and so I set a really brutal pace, essentially trying to work on three or sometimes four books at the same time. And it…has not worked out. Obviously.

I had a really bad time during the end of April and had to kind of just fuck off and get my shit back together. I’m still kind of doing that right now. It’s pretty obvious to me that I’m burned out, but I can’t really relax, I’ve got too much to do. That being said, I am going to tone things down a little bit and only work on two novels simultaneously instead of three or four. Consequently, this has caused me to reassess my plan. Part of the problem is that unfinished series can really bother me. I should’ve learned my lesson from the last time this happened with Monster Girl Inn, and I suppose I did learn my lesson, because this time I didn’t really choose this situation, my hand was sort of forced.

Whatever. Anyway, here is a bullet point list of information that should sum things up nicely.

  • BENEATH THE ASHES 3: This is my main focus. This one will likely have a June release. I am intending to begin posting chapters for it to my Patreon on May 13th. BTA2 audio is set for May 6th. Based on the data presented so far, I’d say you should expect BTA3’s audio sometime in August, but audiobook producing is very potentially chaotic, so don’t quote me on that. After that, it’ll be done. Sometime in the future, at Royal Guard’s discretion, The Complete Trilogy for eBook and audio will drop. It will have no bonus content, as I opted not to write any. And that’ll be it for Beneath the Ashes.

  • LAKESIDE COUGARS: So, this is Project #2 I’ll be working on alongside BTA3. I unfortunately had to basically bail on it for most of April, so I’m nowhere near where I should be. Unfortunately, this means I will definitely not make the June 1st release date. I’m going to go ahead and just push it back to July 1st. I will probably make it, but this is exactly the reason I have always hated trying to put release dates to things. I’m just too unreliable thanks to my mental health problems and complete lack of motivation. And I won’t be able to make it first priority until I deal with Goblin Girls Do It Better.

  • GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER: So it’s become clear to me that I need to prioritize wrapping up this as well as Beneath the Ashes. As soon as BTA3 is done, I’m going to get right to work on Goblin Girls III. I’ve got an idea of how I want this to go and it’ll be a nice way to cap off the trilogy. If I’m really lucky, I can get it out in June, but there’s a decent chance it’ll be July. Then it’ll be done. Once Goblin Girls is done, I will shift my focus to Lakeside Cougars.

  • OUR OWN WAY: So, the good news is that I’m now positive there will be a book six for this series, and more books are on the table. The most recent launch went well (it managed to crack the Top 1000 for a little bit and hit #1 Bestseller status in Men’s Adventure, always nice), and I’m getting the impression that Our Own Way is a series with some longevity, financially speaking. I’m always reluctant to start going on about business and finances, because it always has such a sour taste and I know people get grumpy when an author abandons a series due to poor sales, which is understandable. But Our Own Way is earning pretty solidly. My impression is that it’s a slower burn earner, in that it earns less on a week-to-week basis, but earns more consistently, which is kind of a big deal. All in all, this boils down to good news if you like the series! At minimum there will be two more books. Also, at some point in the not too distant future, I’m going to write at least one bonus short set between Our Own Way 4 & 5, probably two, maybe even three. The final thing I want to say is that unfortunately, it’ll be a while before OOW5 comes out. I was very distracted while writing OOW4 and it was not a good experience, so I want to be in a better, clearer space before I tackle it.

  • SECRET PROJECT #1: This is the smaller one. I’ve done my part for it, but I’m just a small part of the overall project. Still can’t talk about it and so far I haven’t heard very much about the behind the scenes besides the fact that they’re still putting it together. Regardless, it’s out of my hands and I’ll make a big announcement about it whenever I get the green light to do so. I can’t imagine it’ll be more than a month or two longer, but that is very much a guess with only a bit of insight. I am very much not at the helm of this, I just showed up, did my job, and fucked off.

  • SECRET PROJECT #2: So this is my collab with Lara X. Lust. I would say it’s the biggest project we’ve done together. As of now, I have more or less completed my contributions to the project, and it is now in Lara’s hands. I would say she is at the helm of this one, I’m just assisting. I’m not sure when it will come out and as I said above, I’m reluctant to say very much, since she’s the one who will be making all the decisions and I don’t want to speak for her. Naturally, I’ll talk about it more when I can. I’m thinking people will enjoy it a lot.

And I think that’s everything. I’m going to go try and clear my head before firing things back up next Monday.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter | April 2024

This month’s newsletter will also be a bit short.

I definitely ran into some issues in March, but they seem to have passed and they didn’t interfere too much with my writing. Or at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself. In terms of raw output, I have actually been trending upwards on a month-by-month basis so far, so this is good. The problem is that those written words are spread across several different projects. If I was just working on a single project, I’d have a novel and be on my way into the sequel based on March’s output.

Anyway, here’s what happened last month.

GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER II was officially released.

And early access to OUR OWN WAY 4 was launched.

And finally Lakeside Cougars was revealed!

April is pretty much going to be more of the same.

  • OUR OWN WAY 4 will be finished this month. Right now, it’s looking like almost certainly a late April release.

  • LAKESIDE COUGARS will continue to see regular updates at one chapter per weekday (Mon - Fri).

  • Once OOW4 is finished, I’m going all in on BENEATH THE ASHES 3. I’m intending to have that finished sometime in May.

  • Still basically no update on SHELTER FROM THE STORM. I’ve come to realize that enough time has passed that I’ll need to do a full re-read of everything I’ve written so far and refresh myself on it. I want to clear a few things from the table before I do that.

That’s pretty much it. Things are basically looking the same as when I started at the beginning of the year, but some things will probably shift in priority. Beneath the Ashes 3 is top priority, as it’s the only one that’s on a contract and has other people waiting for it, professionally speaking, to be finished. I’d say Lakeside Cougars has second priority, because I’ve been promising it for so long and I really do not want to push it back any further than I already have. I’m still waffling on Our Own Way as a series, if I’m going to continue it past five or not. I imagine I won’t have a sure answer until I actually sit down to begin working on OOW5.

If anything needs to get bumped to the back burner to make room for the priority projects, it’s definitely going to be Goblin Girls III. I still was holding out some kind of hope that maybe the sequel would get more attention and take off at least a bit more than it already has, but no. Goblin Girls II pretty much was the final nail in that coffin. That being said, I am committed to finishing the trilogy, and definitely in 2024. It might just get bumped back a bit.

The only other thing I have to say for the moment is that I’ve got two secret projects. One of them is finished (on my end, at least) and will be out sometime in the nearish future, I think? If you’re active in the community, it shouldn’t be a surprise what it is, but I still don’t want to actually talk any details in case that might fuck things up. The other secret project is still too secret to actually talk about, but it should be, shall we say, familiar to you if you’re familiar with me. It will also be out in 2024, so you don’t have to worry that this is some thing that’s still years off. Depending on how April goes, I might be able to talk about it in May, but probably closer to June or even July is when I can speak of the details.

That’s it. Wish me luck.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter | March 2024

This update won’t be too long because February didn’t go very well and I’ve been drowning in responsibility.

Beneath the Ashes 2 and Our Own Way 3 Audio were officially released in February.

I came very close to having Goblin Girls Do It Better II out, but unfortunately February was kind of a train wreck. Lots of little things kept distracting or derailing me from getting my job done and honestly I’m behind on everything. This is exactly why I didn’t get around to Shelter From the Storm even a tiny bit. I don’t even think I opened up the document one time for the whole month. It’s becoming obvious that starting it was a mistake. I really want to get work done on it but basically this is how I function as a writer:

Ensure that MAIN PROJECT, whatever that might be, gets X amount of words written per day. If that happens, then work on SECONDARY PROJECT, whatever that might be, can happen. What fucks me up so much and derails me so often is that I can’t get that first part done. And if I can’t get that first part done, then my brain feels like there’s literally no point in moving onto anything else.

If I’m working on Goblin Girls Do It Better II and I don’t hit my chosen word count before going to bed, then nothing else gets done that day, because why would I work on something else when I SHOULD be working on Goblin Girls Do It Better II?

I’ve heard several suggestions and tried several things, but ultimately this is simply how I work. I know I have something wrong with me, probably something related to OCD or ADHD. Honestly, I’d probably get more done if I did Goblin Girls on one day and then another project on the next day and back-and-forth it, but I just…can’t? I don’t know, I just can’t. I have to keep momentum going on a project. I thought maybe I could do something more casually, hence Shelter From the Storm, but that just doesn’t seem to be a thing.

It’s kind of killing me.

All that being said, I am going to try very hard AGAIN to get my shit together this month and produce more and produce quickly. I’m honestly glad I’m in my 30s still because this shit is going to stress me into a heart attack if it’s still like this in my 50s.

Anyway, the month ahead:

  • GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER II will be out very soon.

  • BENEATH THE ASHES 2 audio is being worked on, no idea when it’ll be out though.

  • OUR OWN WAY 4 will be the main writing focus for this month. It should be out sometime in April.

  • UNTITLED COUGAR HAREM will get a proper reveal this month. I’ll write a blog post about it, reveal the title, and begin posting early access to my Patreon.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter | February 2024

Well, January didn’t go quite as I’d hoped. But at least some things were released.

Some audiobooks are here!

I know Beneath the Ashes audio came out in December but I’m sharing it again in case anyone missed it. The only other thing I have to say is that, unfortunately, due to some circumstances beyond our control, we had to release the Complete Collection of A Warm Place without recording Prelude or the two bonus shorts.

Other than that, I don’t have too much to talk about. January is traditionally my worst month, personally speaking, and although this month was more ‘low energy’ and less ‘I’m struggling to find a reason to continue being alive’, it resulted in me not getting as much done as I’d hoped.

I got about 2/3 of the way through Beneath the Ashes 2, and I also got a secret project written and sent off. I’m not sure when it will be released, as that’s out of my hands, but I’ll definitely let everyone know once I know.

I also spent some time workshopping how I wanted to approach my projects this year, and ultimately this is what I’ve settled on. I’ll be working on a cycle for at least the next six months. Beneath the Ashes 2, Goblin Girls 2, Our Own Way 4, and then Beneath the Ashes 3, Goblin Girls 3, and Our Own Way 5. Pretty much just one after the other. Alongside this, I’ll be getting slow but steady work done on my cougar harem trilogy. The end result of this is that by the time June rolls around, I’ll have at the very least wrapped up Beneath the Ashes and Goblin Girls Do It Better, and I’ll very likely have the first two cougar stories written.

I’m intending to release the first cougar story on June 1st, the second on July 1st, and the third and final one on August 1st.

Right now, the only thing that isn’t certain is Our Own Way. I know for a fact I want to do five of them, but as more time has passed and I’ve gotten a better grasp of both people’s reception to it and sales, it seems like it should be one of the longer series, and due to the nature of the story, theoretically it could go on for quite a while. It’s the kind of thing where I’ll basically just have to see how it feels once I’m actually there, but…like for real, there’s a LOOOOOOT that could happen in that story.

But that’s in the future. For the month of February, this is what should be happening:

  • OUR OWN WAY 3 Audio should come out.

  • BENEATH THE ASHES 2 should release.

  • GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER II might release near the end of the month, depending on how well I can keep it together.

  • SHELTER FROM THE STORM should be worked on. I definitely dropped the ball on this one given it’s been like almost 3 months with no updates. I am going to try and start setting aside some time each week to get at least one chapter out.

And that’s it. Onward we go.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter | January 2024

And here we are again, at the dawn of a new year.

I’ve been doing this for nine years now.

Let’s kick this off with a look back at what I managed to do in 2023.

Clearly, 2023 was a lot more productive than 2022, which saw my least productive month of my entire career. Except for one big blemish, I overall feel pretty decent about 2023.

To give a rough and short explanation for the blemish, and to explain why I am going to be spending probably most of this upcoming year digging myself out of a hole: Amazon made a change to the backend of publishing that caused a LOT of trouble for authors everywhere. They added a question that needed to be answered before publishing, the ridiculously vague question: Does this work contain adult content? Without elaborating AT ALL on what the fuck ‘adult content’ means. It could have meant practically fucking ANYTHING. In fact, I’m still hard-pressed to think of a single novel that doesn’t contain something that could be considered ‘adult content’.

This was basically a blank check for Amazon to just slaughter anyone they didn’t like. It went on for two months. Finally, they walked it back without saying a single word and, thankfully, put us back basically to where we were. Despite some authors arrogantly claiming they weren’t worried at all and anyone who was worried or changed their plans based on this new information was a FUCKING PUSSY, I changed my plans. (I get along with nearly every author, but some I very much don’t and no, I’m not going to go any further into it.)

My original plan, after wrapping up Raw, was to switch back to a ‘one series at a time’ policy, and my new series was Our Own Way. Unfortunately, the Amazon threat forced my hand and I ended up staring two new series. Series that I am now committed to. Which might sound like I’m resentful about, but in truth I’m fine with writing them, I just wish I could do so at a saner pace.

It’s become obvious to me that the way to maximize not just profits but also reader happiness is to release books in a series as quickly as possible. While getting to mix it up and having two or three different series on rotation may help keep me sane, it’s simply costing too much money. I hate that money is as significant to me as it is, but…2023 scared the fuck out of me, and it looks like this year is not going to get any better. It will likely get worse. And I need to continue battening down the hatches and preparing for the storm. We all do.

With that cheery thought, let’s take a quick look at my plans, tentative ones and more certain ones, for this upcoming year.

  • Finish Beneath the Ashes. As of this moment, Beneath the Ashes is planned as a trilogy. There will be no bonus content written. It may expand if the series suddenly explodes in popularity, but despite doing fairly decently so far, so far the sales do not seem to necessitate expanding the trilogy to a quadrilogy or further. I’m intending for Beneath the Ashes 2 to come out either late this month or early February. Beneath the Ashes 3 will likely release sometime in April.

  • Finish Goblin Girls Do It Better. This one is also going to be a trilogy. Unlike Beneath the Ashes, I am…not happy with Goblin Girls. While it was fun enough to write, it severely underperformed, especially for what it was supposed to be. I admittedly decided to chase a trend for the first time in my career. With the success of Michael Dalton’s Goblin Apocalypse, and the subsequent success of following goblin-themed titles, I decided, in my concern during Amazon’s fuckup, to jump onto a trend for once. I figured, I can do goblin girls. And while I can’t quite call it a failure…obviously I fucked something up. I’m not sure what I fucked up. That’s a sexy goblin girl on the cover, it features fun goblin adventure, there’s over half a dozen hot, horny, argumentative goblin girls getting absolutely railed and some even impregnated in the novel, and yet…underperformed. So I will be wrapping this one up soon. Goblin Girls Do It Better II should be out sometime in February. Goblin Girls III will be out probably in May. There will be one more bonus short set between II & III, and then somewhere in the second half of the year, I’ll release The Complete Trilogy. And then I will probably never chase a trend again.

  • Finish Our Own Way. This one is going fairly decently so far, I think. I’m having fun writing it and people seem to like it. As of writing this, I for sure will be releasing two more novels in this series. There will likely be at least one more bonus short. Our Own Way 4 should be releasing sometime in either late March or early April. Our Own Way 5 will probably be in June. That will probably be the end, but a sixth novel isn’t impossible. It very likely will not go beyond six, though.

  • Write the cougar trilogy, at long last. In 2023, I began working on my cougar trilogy. I even invested in some AMAZING (and very expensive) cover art that I am fucking dying to show off. I was going to write it after wrapping up Our Own Way, which, under the original plan, would’ve been finished just about now. I’m very excited about this one, but also very nervous. I’ve had a lot of people tell me they really want to read a harem of cougars, but overall, the concept does seem to be unpopular. Then again, I’m not sure anyone’s ever done a proper cougar harem before. (I could be wrong about this, if I am, I apologize. It’s hard to keep up with something like 100 authors all at the same time.) I am intending for this to be a trilogy and no more. I am going to knock those out one by one until they are finished. I am hoping the first one will be out in July, then the sequel in August, then the final one in September. Regardless, it’ll be fun to write, and hopefully fun to read. There’s going to be four cougars, ranging in age from late 30s to early 50s, and they are all very hot and horny.

  • Finally, in this list of me digging myself out of my novel hole, I am AT LAST going to tackle a true horror harem. I feel like Beneath the Ashes was a big step towards the concept, and people seem to like it. My underwater post-apocalyptic survival series is going to be written. It will be at least a trilogy, but there’s a lot of potential there. I’m pretty excited for this one. I’ve got the first two covers and some of it written. There will be real horror (while still not breaking any rules, so, you know, the girls aren’t going to die), there will be impregnation, there will be bleak underwater survival, there will be people living on a submarine. I’m looking forward to it. It will likely take up the rest of 2024.

Those five series are the set in stone plans. Or, at least, as much as things can be set in stone for me. Here’s hoping I’m not sticking my foot in my mouth.

Now, let’s discuss vaguer things.

  • Shelter From the Storm. For those of you who don’t know, I began writing a post-apocalyptic post-dystopian survival slice-of-life and posting it to my Patreon. The big thing is that it’s a lot more emotional and depressing. The protagonist is a suicidal war hero and the three main love interests all have psychological issues of their own. I’ve written about 1/5th of it so far, and I admittedly thought I was going to have more done by now. This one was an experiment, to be written piecemeal and posted to Patreon until it was finished. I’m intending to at the very least finish the first one this year. Probably I will make it a priority following the completion of my underwater horror series.

  • My backlog. Clearly, I went back and forth on what to do with my backlog last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. Ultimately, I’ve settled on the notion that I’m just going to keep them up in their present form. The only changes that are going to be made are new cover art. The more time goes on, the more I find myself drifting away from going back and tinkering with things. I’d rather look forward, to the future. At this point, the only thing left I intend to touch is Demoness, and I’m still figuring that one out.

  • Mono Romance. I’ve been tossing around the idea of writing a romance between one man and one woman for a while now. It’s a difficult prospect, because I have hardwired my brain to write harems. Anytime I come up with an idea, I end up wanting to add in at least one other girl. At the very least, I know that I won’t be able to keep the sex between just the two leads. What I’m going to settle on is a man and a woman in a relationship, and sometimes they pull other girls into their bed for fun. I have an idea of a sci-fi survival romance between a human soldier and a female alien warrior in the midst of a war. The basic premise is they’re on opposite sides of the war and ultimately decide it’s bullshit, and they’re just going to stop fighting. They’re forced to work together to escape a desperate situation and begin falling in love. I imagine there’s a lot of potential interesting things that could happen between them, given they’re not just from different races, but from two warring cultures. This one is still cooking.

  • Future Ideas. Below, I’ll list some ideas that are more solidified that may either be side projects or we’ll see in 2025. Maybe. I’m reluctant to talk too far into the future, but I also really want to because I love teasing ideas. So, here’s a quick look.

    • SLICE-OF-LIFE SCI-FI: I’ve discussed this one before. It was originally to be my main focus following the cougars trilogy. It takes place about a century in the future and features a jack-of-all-trades survivalist type deciding to take a stab at building a life for himself on a huge space station orbiting Earth. That’s as far as I want to go with it. It’ll mostly be slice-of-life, but there will definitely be survival and battle elements to it.

    • SCI-FI SLICE-OF-LIFE ADVENTURE: This one is more an idea that’s been kicking around in bits and pieces here and there for at least a year now. It involves a protagonist a bit different from anything I’ve written before in a far future, taking place on a research colony on a distant planet. It’ll be more of a blend between slice-of-life and survival, somewhat closer in structure to Beneath the Ashes. It’s definitely going to be a bit stranger, compared to what I normally write.

    • POST-APOCALYPTIC BREEDING SLICE-OF-LIFE: I have wanted to do something focused almost entirely on breeding for a long, long time now. I got to indulge in it with Goblin Girls, but I have a few ideas revolving around people chosen for their genetics and asked to be involved in a ‘save the human race’ breeding program after an apocalyptic event.

    • HORROR HAREM: I really want to do more horror harems. Underwater is awesome, but it’s just the beginning. I want to do something in space, something in post-apocalyptic wastelands, something on a dark and distant alien world, just a lot of ideas. Even if the underwater story tanks, I’ll still likely find time to do more horror harem. I really love the idea.

    • INCEST HAREM: I’ve been talking about it for years. It’s still probably a ways off. Right now, I know for a fact I want to write a fully fleshed out harem, like on the same level as the other stuff I write, called SISTERS > GIRLFRIENDS. The obvious problem is that it will be at a SEVERE disadvantage, because I cannot publish it on Amazon. They’re bitches about incest. So I’ll have to host it myself and offer it on Smashwords.

That’s all I’ve got to talk about right now. There’s a lot of theoretical series for the future, even removing the things I’m working for sure this year, there’s still 21 new series ideas I have tucked away. And given each new idea spawns a minimum of three novels, that means I’m set for at minimum the next sixty novels. Two of those series I’m intending to make into very long ones. Like, at least 15 novels long, if not longer. I want to have at least one epic length series at some point. That’s probably the most significant reason why I’m definitely not chasing trends in the future, I have too many other ideas I’d rather be writing.

I hope everyone’s year goes well. I’m going to keep on writing.

-Misty

The Misty Vixen Newsletter (December 2023)

Here we are, at the end of 2023. Feels like we got here kind of fast all of a sudden.

This will be a short newsletter, as I’m saving the bigger, broader stuff for next month and my The Year Ahead post.

So, as you can see, Beneath the Ashes is here! If you’re confused about why the cover art here looks different than the cover art over on Amazon, this is because cover art swapping is a technique used to help boost sales and visibility. I’m probably going to indulge in it a little more in 2024 because it’s basically just leaving money on the table not to do it. Sorry if it’s frustrating, it seems to bug some people, but this is the reality Amazon and the silent majority of readers are forcing on us.

I was hoping to arrive here with Our Own Way 3 ready, but that ended up not being the case.

I’ve been having difficulties recently. Insomnia, stomach problems, low energy in general. It makes doing things hard, and it’s largely a side effect of being in winter. Given the fact that winter is only just starting, and we’ve got a solid three more months of it to go, um…December is probably going to be a not productive month.

As for specifics, I intend to:

  • Finish Our Own Way 3 and get it out. (There will be no short between 3 & 4 because 4 picks up immediately after the end of 3.)

  • I want to get the bulk of Goblin Girls II written. Ideally it’ll be out sometime in January.

  • I also would like to get the bulk of Beneath the Ashes 2 written, but we’ll see how that works. Also has a January release date, probably late January. (I’ve also opted to forgo bonus content for Beneath the Ashes.)

  • Raw - The Complete Series is going to drop around Christmas. It will have no new content. I waffled for quite a while on whether or not to write more and ultimately decided that I like where I ended it and adding on anything else might not be such a great idea.

  • I’ll try to get at least a chapter for Shelter From the Storm out.

That’s what I’ve got for now. I hope it’s a good month for you.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter (November 2023)

This is gonna be a short update.

Most of my October was spent trying to write two novels at the same time, and I managed to do it!

Goblin Girls Do It Better, my take on the goblin girl craze that has swept haremlit, is out now! It is to be the first in a planned trilogy. I’m hoping to get the sequel out before the end of the year, but more realistically it’ll be sometime in January 2024. And then a few months after that the final sequel will come out.

Audiobook versions of Goblin Girls Do It Better are officially confirmed.

The other novel was Beneath the Ashes, my subterranean post-apocalyptic novel with more emphasis on action and adventure and a bit of horror. It’s done and I have handed it over to Royal Guard. We’re currently talking about things but I will definitely let everyone know as soon as we have any kind of idea on a release date.

I also finished putting my backlog back up, so that’s nice.

As for audiobook news…

  • The final individual Haven audiobook is out now.

  • Haven - The Complete Collection Audiobook, which will include all bonus shorts, should be coming out soon.

  • Raw VIII audio may come this month.

  • A Warm Place 8 will probably be early 2024.

  • Our Own Way 2 will ideally be out sometime this month.

That’s what I’ve got for audiobook news. Things have always been a little unpredictable but it’s been a bit more unpredictable lately. Such is life, especially in a creative industry.

Now, as for what’s coming up this month?

  • OUR OWN WAY 3. This is going to be my primary focus for the month of November. I doubt I’ll finish the novel this month, (they’re averaging about 40% longer than my other titles), but it probably will come in early December.

  • Soon I’m gonna write a bonus short set between Goblin Girls Do It Better I & II, but that only really matters to the people who are doing my 10$/month Patreon.

  • I’ll try to get at least a couple of chapters out for Shelter From the Storm.

  • I’m also going to try and get at least one short story out for either Haven or A Warm Place for the Patron of the Arts 10$ Tier on my Patreon. I want to try and get a little more going now that I’m not so slammed.

That’s what I’ve got for now.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter (October 2023)

Here we are, in probably the best month of the year.

Let’s get down to business.

First thing, what I managed to get going last month.

All the other big release stuff that happened last month all relates to my Patreon.

In short, I gave it a big overhaul. Mostly it was cosmetic stuff, it looks better now, but I also added a new tier. 10$/month gets you early access to bonus shorts that I normally write and keep secret until releasing them with the collections. I also will probably be writing new bonus content for already finished series. (Like Haven for example.) Ultimately, the bonus shorts for collections will have to come down, but I’ll probably keep the extra bonus shorts up there.

The other big thing is that Patreon has finally reorganized and added a feature called Collections. In short, it’s an easier way to organize posts, and what this means for me is that I will be organizing my early access chapters into Collections. It has also prompted me to experiment with something: posting chapters to a story I’m writing in the background. Typically speaking, I post chapters to my Patreon only when I am very actively working on a title, and the release date isn’t all that far off. This time around, though, I’ve got some content written for a story that I’m a bit more uncertain on. I keep coming back to it, so I decided finally to just release chapters for it to my Patreon, partly to get feedback and partly to help bulk up the 3$/month Tier offerings.

That being said, here are links to the titles I have in progress.

10$ TIER

I also organized all my nude art into collections as well. Basically there’s three eras.

  • OLD SCHOOL: This contains a bunch of art that, as far as I know, is no longer available anywhere else. It’s all art you can view if you are a 1$/month Patron or over. It’s from 2017-2018 era when I was first getting art drawn for my backlog.

  • CLASSIC: Also available to all tiers of my Patreon. Same deal, a lot of these aren’t available elsewhere, and that’ll get more true as I continue updating my art. There’s also a few bonuses in there, like the original versions of the Raw covers, some extra characters I had drawn, and one bonus character for an early version of Beneath the Ashes.

  • MODERN ART: This is all 5$/month Tier stuff. It’s where I will be putting my new covers and holds all the modern era stuff. Again, I’d like to reiterate that this is an early access program. Basically, nude cover art goes up here for one month, then gets released to my website, where you can view it for free.

I’ve had to lean into my Patreon a bit more, especially this year, but I’m still ultimately kind of leery of it. Obviously I’m grateful that there are people who want to go the extra distance, and I want to try and give those people something back for their support, but I’ve never really been a fan of paywalls. Unfortunately for me, this is my whole career and how I make money, so I’ve had to give some ground on that, and I probably will have to give more ground in the future given the way society is going.

I think that’s everything about Patreon.

Let’s wrap this up with a quick discussion of in progress works.

  • BENEATH THE ASHES: This is I’d say about halfway written now (though not halfway posted). Gonna try to have this wrapped up before November, but after that the ball will be in RGP’s court and I’m not sure how long the process of publication might take.

  • GOBLIN GIRLS DO IT BETTER: Maybe a quarter written right now. I’m going to try and have this written and out before November as well. I kind of want to get this done and kicked out the door. I’m committing to at least a trilogy. I would like to have Goblin Girls Do It Better II out before 2024 and then wrap up the trilogy in early 2024, but that seems pretty unlikely.

  • OUR OWN WAY 3: Ideally I will begin writing Our Own Way 3 this month and have it out sometime in late November, early December, given these books are tending to be much longer than usual. Given we’re heading into winter, it kind of feels like all bets might be off. It’s a tough time, traditionally. I’m hoping that the writing of Our Own Way 3 will go as smoothly as the previous one.

  • SHELTER FROM THE STORM: So yeah, this one I’m just working on in the background. No idea when I’ll wrap it up. A whole month might go by between updates.

  • BACKLOG: Previously I mentioned that I was going to try and do Hellcats 4 and Wanderlust V and probably a few more. Uh…yeah I gotta say now that it’s not happening. I actually sat down and started working on Hellcats 4, but it pretty quickly became obvious to me that my heart isn’t there, and if my heart isn’t in it, then there’s basically no reason to do it. Sorry to get your hopes up if you were hoping for this. Pretty soon I’ll have all my backlog back up, with updated formatting, etc., and then I will be extremely grateful when it’s all done and up. I’m sure I’ll swing back in the other direction sometime next year, thinking ‘gee I miss my backlog, maybe I should take another look at expanding it…’, but I’m now feeling very ‘focus on the new stuff, stop looking back’.

Also, there’s ONE other thing that I wrote. It’s a short incest erotica fan fiction, set in the Dragon Age universe. It’s called NO ONE ADMITS IT, and it takes place before the first game, featuring one of the theoretical protagonists. If you have no idea what Dragon Age is, that’s fine, you don’t need to for enjoyment of this story. All you really need to know is: It’s a fantasy universe, the protagonist is a twenty-something noble, and he bangs the ever-loving fuck out of his mom when she comes onto him. And, just so there’s no confusion, it’s his bio mom, not his stepmom. I fired up Dragon Age again and just sort of got overwhelmed with the idea and figured I might as well just write it, and so I did. I might do a sequel, with his mom and his aunt.

I hope you enjoy it!

That’s it. Now I’ve got a shitload of writing to do.

The Misty Vixen Newsletter (September 2023)

August was nowhere near as exciting as July was. Sort of a gift and a curse kind of situation.

I had hoped to arrive here with Our Own Way 2 in hand, and if sleep problems and frankly shockingly potent depression hadn’t struck, I would be. But that’s the way life goes sometimes. Or my life at least.

Anyway, the good news, a few things came out at least.

For those curious, the Monster Girl Inn Trilogy audio does include Time Together. Now that we’re beginning to transition into Collections, as far as I know, they should have the bonus content recorded for all of them going forward.

As for Snowed In, I originally wrote this earlier in the year for a different project that ultimately fell through, so I opted to get some cover art made and post it. I’ve always been kind of curious about posting little follow-up shorts to finished series, but I have to admit that I was kind of surprised by the poor response to this title. I knew it wasn’t going to be a bestseller but man were the sales abysmal. I haven’t even gotten out of the red for the cover art yet. I don’t really regret writing it because now it’s there and it’ll always be there for those who want to look, and I know it’ll make some people happy, but it’s made me reconsider returning to any of my series beyond basically any capacity but a passion project.

On that note, I’ve begun the process of resurrecting my backlog yet again. Here’s a quick list of what’s back up.

  • SEX & SURVIVAL TRILOGY

  • LIKE A FINE WINE SERIES

  • ALIEN HAREM DUOLOGY

  • DESIRE SERIES (New 9,900 word epilogue)

  • EXPLORATION

  • AMAZONIAN’S LOVE

Except for Desire, there’s little that has changed. I’ve remade all the cover art to be more in keeping with my current aesthetic and everything has been reformatted to be much more readable (smaller paragraphs, shorter chapters). Also, Exploration & Amazonian’s Love now have the bonus content paired with them. I figured it’s the best way to handle it. Also, just in case you missed it, I wrote a 13,000 Epilogue for Like A Fine Wine that is now packaged with The Complete Series.

For now, the only thing left coming is Hellcats and Blind Date. Blind Date won’t change, but I’m still intending to release Hellcats 4, which will be a blend of the bonus content I wrote for it over the years and new content written to serve as connective tissue between the shorts. How it will play out, functionally speaking, is sort of like Time Together. You’ll see roughly a year of time after the end of Hellcats 3 pass in chunks and it’ll show their life coming together. If you’re wondering why am I bothering with this after what I just said about Snowed In? Three reasons that sort of blend together: part passion, part long-term investment, part aesthetic. To me, one novel is more appealing than 9 short stories, at least in this regard. The Life, the most recently written story, will still remain a bonus epilogue packaged with The Complete Series.

I won’t be able to post much else until near the end of this month, and that’ll be from the Fantasy Universe. I’m still intending to do a Wanderlust V and a Lust & Adventure IV. I’ve got a bit more invested in the Fantasy Universe, as I still intend to do a big epic rewrite of Demoness in the future.

The rest of the content will get posted sometime in October and then I’ll be done with all the reposting.

Okay, next thing.

Dead Drift. This is the project I was mentioning with Lara X. Lust. For the record, no, this is not the Sci-Fi/Horror project I’ve been referencing. This is completely new content, independent of anything I’ve ever spoken of before. In short, this kind of just happened. I had a heavy hand in plotting and writing it. A new episode should be coming out once a week, I believe over the weekend, until completion. You can check out this page for direct information on what’s out.

To clarify, it is haremlit. It’s basically about survival in a post-apocalyptic galaxy where undead monsters are everywhere.

Now, finally, we’ll wrap up with the most pertinent data, which I of course have placed here at the end.

  • OUR OWN WAY: This should be done relatively soon. I’ve been pushing through this as fast as I can, but these stories are longer than anything else I’ve written. From where it stands now, there’s a decent chance Our Own Way 2 will actually be longer than the first one. Also, as part of an experiment, I’m going to be bumping the price to 5.99$ for both titles. In truth, I don’t expect this to do too much, given people tend to read everything I write through the KU, (which is totally cool), but I’m beginning to suspect that people aren’t taking 4.99$ titles seriously. I know it sounds ridiculous and I wish I didn’t have to fuck with this kind of shit. I just want to write stories and sell them to people, easy as that, but unfortunately I, like Robert Rodriguez, am a ‘one person mariachi band’. (Mostly, obviously I’m grateful to my artists.) After Our Own Way 2 is wrapped up, I think I need to take a little break before getting started on Our Own Way 3. I don’t want to go too fast and screw up the writing.

  • UNDERGROUND POST-APOCALYPTIC STORY: Still working on this one in the background, but I will begin posting it to my Patreon this month. Once Our Own Way 2 is finished, this is going to get primary focus until it’s done. Unlike my other titles, though, I’m not sure when this one will come out. That’s going to be up to Royal Guard.

  • GOBLIN GIRLS: Okay, so…the Amazon problem seems to have largely smoothed itself out. Behind the scenes, they made a change that really took the pressure off. This is good. It means I can reassess all my plans. Again. Which I have done. (I still don’t trust Amazon at all, though). I’ve never really been what you can call a trend-chaser, mostly because the things that end up getting really popular are not things that I care about or, in some cases, could even see myself writing about. That being said, it’s very obvious that goblin girls are the next big thing. Everyone wants them, and I know for a fact that there’s like half a dozen authors in the haremlit field jumping on the goblin girl bandwagon. Several people have encouraged me to do the same and initially I was reluctant. But some time passed and an idea finally came to me. I’ll be working on the first book in the background and if we are very lucky, I will have it out next month. What I can say about it now is it takes place in a fantasy setting and it will involve adventuring, surviving, and the breeding of horny goblin girls.

  • Basically everything else will have to wait while I deal with these three.

And that’s it.
